How to book a cheap hotel in london ?
London is one of the most visited cities in the world! Full of famous landmarks, such as Big Ben, Parliament, Buckingham Palace and home to the second-largest stadium in Europe; Wembley. So, you might think staying in a hotel here might be extortionate? Well, it doesn’t have to be if you plan and book at the best times. You might be wondering how to book a cheap hotel in London?
Top tips to get the best value for your money:
1. Book in Advance whenever you can
You can save a whopping 20%! When you book 3-5 months in advance, as most of the London hotels use revenue management techniques which tend to increase prices closer to the stay date, rates for given days are always the lowest in advance.
2. Look into business hotels for Weekend and Summer breaks
Many city hotels predominately cater to businesses and often business can be slow during summer months (June, July & August) and on weekends which can lead to lower prices when booking your stay.
3. Consider alternative days
Sundays and Mondays tend to have the lowest rates, when booking a city break, consider booking Sunday stay instead of Saturday, you can save up to 50% on the rate. Also, avoid staying in the middle of the week from Tuesday to Thursday.
4. Check-in near the end of the day.
Hotels are more aware of their availability after 3 pm so they are more likely to offer you an upgrade to your hotel room.
5. Stay during low seasons
Low seasons in London are many but they are very short, rates might jump from £100 to £300 within a day, finding the best days can be difficult.
THE GOLDEN HOTEL TRICK TO SAVE MONEY!!
Always consider contacting the hotel directly to ask them for a better price, the hotel can’t offer better rates online than travel agents due to a legal agreement called “rate parity”, but you can always contact the hotel directly and request a discount. Hotels don’t have to pay a commission to a travel agent and are often eager to provide a discounted rate.
