CEO Update from John Nyota

04/12/2020

2020 has been a strange year for many of us, with COVID-19 causing mass disruption and loss across the UK and the world. Despite the doom and gloom which has come with 2020, there  also comes one exciting accomplishment, 2020 marks our 70th Anniversary at The Wesley. In any normal time, we would be throwing a huge party to celebrate this milestone, but the state of the current climate means that celebrations have been put on hold for the time being. Despite the challenging year we have faced across the board, we are committed to sustaining the incredible work we have achieved in the last 70 years of operation, including the accreditation of being the UK’s first social enterprise hotel, which is something we are extremely proud of.

The Wesley’s doors continue to stay open, even during lockdown. Providing key hotel accommodation for key workers and business travellers. The bar and restaurant are now open once again and serving tasty sustainable treats as per the government guidelines and abiding by all social distancing measures to ensure you can celebrate freedom, and enjoy a cocktail or two over the festive season, We are open from 8am – 8pm Monday – Friday and 8am – 7pm on Sundays.

We still have the capability to offer our spacious meeting rooms for small business meetings and we are following closely with government guidelines to ensure these can be run in the safest and most efficient manner possible. In these extraordinary times, we are very much aware that people need flexibility in hotel and venue services. We can offer space for you to work from the hotel. Rooms are available for day use. All COVID safety measures are in place and our helpful team are here to help you.

We look forward to welcoming you again in the future and hope for better times soon, with fantastic news that a vaccine may be available imminently.
