Meet the Team: Gregory  

​Gregory our restaurant manager joined us just before the festivities. Originally from Avignon in France a veteran Londoner who has been living in the big smoke since 1999. With over 25 years in hospitality, Greg started initially as a chef and made the jump to the front of  house a few years later.

He has worked at several well-known restaurants in London, from Wagamama, Crazy Bear to Jamie’s Italian. Whilst at Brasserie Joel in Park Plaza Westminster bridge where he was nominated at the prestigious Catey’s hospitality awards – Catey’s award in 2016 as hotel restaurant manager of the year. He then moved to Bill’s restaurant throughout London before arriving at Savannah at the Wesley hotel.

1. What do you enjoy about the hospitality industry the most?

I enjoy interacting and serving customers. Service is the main element of hospitality. It can be the most difficult part at times, but it is also very rewarding especially when you make your customers day with the service you have provided.

2. What is your favourite food?

I love all food in general but if I had to choose it would either be from Thailand or Japan. I just love the flavours of Thailand but also sushi’s and Ramen soups.

2. What do you like doing when you are not at work?

I have a big garden so enjoy gardening a lot. I found it quite relaxing. I enjoy reading a good book and watching movies. If I had a long day, I like to watch stuff like family guy or south park.

3. What is the best vacation you took?

The Philippines. My wife is from there. It is such a beautiful country with great people, great food and beautiful landscapes and beaches. Wouldn’t mind retiring there.
