Street Parties
The UK has a long history of organised street parties to have a good time while celebrating national events. Why not organise one for your neighbours for the Platinum Jubilee?
What events are taking place?
The Big Jubilee Lunch
During the Platinum Jubilee, The Big Jubilee Lunch will take place on Sunday 5th June.
Every year since the beginning of this idea in 2009, The Big Lunch encourages communities to celebrate their connections and get to know each other better.
The Queen’s Green Canopy
You can plant trees from October 2021 (when the tree-planting season begins) until the end of the year 2022 as part of Queen’s Green Canopy.
Beacon lighting
The UK has a long tradition of celebrating Royal Jubilees, Weddings and Coronations through beacon lighting. You could light beacons or get involved in beacon lighting within your communities on the evening of 2 June.
